Vehicles a class D zone covers
The Birmingham Clean Air Zone is a class D clean air zone. GOV.UK lists the vehicle types each class covers. Class D: buses, coaches, taxis, private hire vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, vans, minibuses, cars. The council may also include motorcycles.

Which cars generally meet the Birmingham Clean Air Zone standard
By first-use date, petrol cars from 1 January 2006 and diesel cars from 1 September 2015 generally meet it, and electric cars always do. A car may have met it earlier: it is decided for each car, from the Euro standard on its V5C. The full rule table and every model by make.
