What can go wrong
For certain vehicles there is an error in the specific software calibrations of the Engine Control Unit. In certain cases this condition may result in a delayed activation of the malfunction indicator (MIL) allowing the vehicle to operate with tailpipe emissions exceeding limits before the MIL is triggered

Update to the software calibration of the Engine electronic control unit (ECU).
