What can go wrong

Due to an issue with the software in the engine management system (EMS) it is possible that the EMS will not restrict the vehicle speed to 137mph if the Deployable Rear Spoiler (DRS) does not deploy when it should. This can affect vehicle stability; although this should not affect vehicles used in the UK due to the National Speed Limit however it could affect vehicles that travel to Europe or are used on private grounds.

The fix

Recall all affected vehicles to have new software installed.

Is a specific car affected? A recall lists models and build dates, not individual vehicles, so these pages cannot tell you whether one car is included. Enter the registration on the DVSA vehicle recall checker on GOV.UK, or give the vehicle identification number (VIN) to the manufacturer or one of its dealers. Buying used? Ask the seller for proof that any recall work was done.
