What can go wrong
1) It has been identified that as the result of the manufacturing process silicon grease may have contaminated the stop lamp switch contacts. This can result in oxidation of the contacts and prevent the stop lamps operating when the footbrake is applied. 2) It has also been identified that during high speed driving high stresses are generated around the exhaust muffler heat shield which in the most serious case can cause the shield to detach from the vehicle.
The fix
Recalled vehicles will have the stop lamp switch replaced. Additionally on petrol engined vehicles the exhaust muffler heat shield will be replaced with one of a modified design.

Recall wording is DVSA's, with capitals and punctuation tidied and American spellings such as tire, center and windshield given in British English. On this page we also replaced a word that reads as a rating or an endorsement with a plain one. We list a recall when its make and model match a car or van family with at least 1,000 DVSA MOT tests from 2022 to 2025, and when the maker of the vehicle issued it.
