What can go wrong

It has been identified that a brake hose may become worn as a result of rubbing contact against the heat shield protecting the exhaust system. This may lead in extreme cases to a leak from a brake circuit which manifests itself in increased brake pedal travel.

The fix

Recalled vehicles will have the exhaust heat shield adjusted in order to maintain the correct distance from the subject brake hose. Should the hose display signs of wear it will be replaced.

Is a specific car affected? A recall lists models and build dates, not individual vehicles, so these pages cannot tell you whether one car is included. Enter the registration on the DVSA vehicle recall checker on GOV.UK, or give the vehicle identification number (VIN) to the manufacturer or one of its dealers. Buying used? Ask the seller for proof that any recall work was done.
