What can go wrong

Power assisted steering high pressure flexible hose may contact the left hand exhaust manifold and burn through leading to a progressive loss of hydraulic fluid and power assistance.

The fix

Check the position of the high pressure hose in relation to the exhaust manifold. If the hose is touching the manifold or there is insufficient air gap fit a new high pressure hose and reposition and clip as specified.

Is a specific car affected? A recall lists models and build dates, not individual vehicles, so these pages cannot tell you whether one car is included. Enter the registration on the DVSA vehicle recall checker on GOV.UK, or give the vehicle identification number (VIN) to the manufacturer or one of its dealers. Buying used? Ask the seller for proof that any recall work was done.
