Embed our ULEZ and MOT data on your own site
DVSA MOT tests 2022–2025 · Updated
Two widgets for your site, free to embed: a ULEZ estimate by fuel and first-registration date, and a model's MOT fail rate from 130,233,413 MOT tests [1].
- No cookies, no tracking and no adverts: each widget is one small page with no script.
- Keep the credit link under the widget. The data is DVSA open data under the Open Government Licence.
- An estimate, not an official check: the widgets point people to the operators' own checkers.
ULEZ and clean air zone widget
Pick a fuel and the month the car was first registered (on the V5C). The widget says whether a car like that generally meets the ULEZ and clean air zone standard (Euro 4 petrol, Euro 6 diesel) [2], what each zone charges a car that does not [3], and links to TfL's own checker for the exact car.
MOT fail rate widget for one model
One card per model: how often its MOT tests at its most-tested age ended in a fail, adjusted for mileage, against all vehicles the same age at the same mileage, with the number of MOT tests behind it [1]. The Ford Focus card says: 31.7% at 10 years, about the same as the 30.4% for all vehicles the same age at the same mileage.
For another model, use the last two parts of its MOT page address: the page /mot/vauxhall/corsa becomes /embed/mot/vauxhall/corsa. Every model with its own MOT page has a card (351 models today).
Charts and data from our studies
Each study has a chart you can embed as an image, a CSV under the Open Government Licence and a written method:
How you may use them
- Free for any site, commercial or not. No sign-up and no key.
- Keep the credit line and its link under the widget; you may change the wording around it.
- Do not hide, crop or restyle the figures so that they say something else. The ULEZ widget is an estimate: do not present it as an official check.
- The widgets set no cookies, run no script and carry no adverts. Our server receives the normal request for the page, as with any web page.
- We may update the figures when DVSA publishes new data. The address of each widget stays the same.
